Does your seafood contain growth hormones or antibiotics?Updated 4 months ago
When it comes to growth hormones and antibiotics, the primary concern is with farmed seafood. Neither growth hormones nor antibiotics are ever used with wild seafood.
Regarding farmed seafood, the use of growth hormones and antibiotics in seafood is primarily regulated by the FDA. In line with FDA regulations, none of our farmed seafood uses growth hormones (natural or synthetic). In regards to antibiotics, the FDA does allow veterinary antibiotics to be given as a last resort to treat potentially dangerous diseases. They are not given routinely, are never used to prevent disease or to get a performance benefit, and antibiotics cannot be present in any seafood that is sold for human consumption.
